 From 27-th February to 2-nd march in Margilan the museum’s festival was held, dedicated to
2000 anniversary of Margilan.
The Festival was organized by Ministry of cultural affairs and sports of republic of Uzbekistan. Republic fund
“Uzbekmuzey” and Khokimiat of Fergana region. About 30 museums took part in the festival: museums of Tashkent, Museums
of Fergana valley. Thanks to the efforts of these museums the display of exhibition was realized. Exhibition showed
centuries-old history of Margilan and Fergana valley.
Besides every museum designed its section, where were presented exhibits, reflected the distinctive culture history of
the region.
Museums of applied arts of Uzbekistan took part in festival, displayed more than 100 best exhibits in the exhibition,
such as ceramics, chasing wood, carving wood, painting, lacquer miniature, hand-made embroidery, carpets and other kind of
applied arts. The exhibition roused great interest of the residents of Margilan and guests. Students of institutes,
colleges, schools visited the exhibition.
Museums, taken part in festival were claimed for getting prizes, allocated by Ministry of cultural affairs and sports
of Republic of Uzbekistan.
Museum of applied arts took first place “The best display” and was reward by color television. The realization of
festival informed by mass media.
